Marco’s Bar

19:00 – 21:00 3rd Friday of every month, Kitaya Bakery (please check the map below)
Marco’s bar
On the 3rd Friday of every month, Futaba teachers, students, and their friends gather for delicious food and something to drink at the Kitaya Bakery. A lot of our students use this as a chance to put what they’ve been learning recently into practice while relaxing and having fun. Actually, the bakery is used is run by one of Futaba’s students, Marco, and his wife. During the week it’s a very popular bakery but on Thursday and Friday nights, it turns into a standing bar. Marco’s wife’s hand-made pinchos (190 yen) are so popular, they tend to sell out quickly!

One-day Bus Tour (twice a year)

Futaba teachers and students get together with Japanese people from all walks of life to explore and experience Japan’s natural landscapes and regional points of interest. We organise these tours twice a year and they have proved to be extremely popular events with our students!
Past trips have included a trip to Kyoto (zazen meditation experience, making the famous Kyoto snack yatsuhashi, boat cruise), and a New Year trip to the famous Ise Shrine, Izushi and a gourmet tour of Amanohashidate.

Culture Experience Events

We organise a number of fun events , where students can learn about Japanese culture, such as cooking, whilst also teaching us about theirs! We hope that we can encourage mutual understanding and exchanges through these events!
